  Reclaim Tax Paid
Do not forget - If you are a taxpayer, gift aid enables the church to reclaim 25 pence from the Inland Revenue for every £1 you give - at no extra cost to yourself!

You do not have to be employed to be a taxpayer, many retired people are still taxpayers. They may have tax deducted from pension, building society interest or other savings income.

GIVING

Rayners Lane Baptist Church is funded solely by donations from the fellowship. Your giving helps the ongoing work here and in the surrounding neighbourhood.

We set out below ways in which you can help to finance the work of this church.

Donations via the offering

Donations may be placed in the offering boxes either before, during, or after the service.

Giving via the envelope system

Envelopes are available to assist you in your giving. If you are a non taxpayer, you may like to use the blue envelopes. These act as a reminder to you each week, and enable you to give without anyone being aware of the amount of your gift.

If you are a taxpayer and would like to give via the offertory boxes, we would be pleased if you would use the pink envelopes. Your unique gift aid number shown on the envelope enables us to reclaim the tax which you have already paid to the Inland Revenue. For every pound that you give in this way, the church can reclaim 25 pence. There is no commitment to give every week, every month or for any specified period of time.

If you would like to give on a once only basis and are a taxpayer, please use one of our brown envelopes and complete the details on the reverse. In this way the Church will be able to reclaim tax on your gift. These envelopes also allow you to direct your gift to a specific destination, such as the building fund or to a missionary.

Envelopes can be obtained from the church office for further details.

Giving via your bank

If you would like to give to the church on a regular basis, you may like to set up a standing order. Forms can be obtained from the office. If you are a taxpayer, we would be grateful if you would also complete a gift aid declaration so that we may reclaim tax on your giving.

Give as you earn

Some employers offer the facility to have charitable donations deducted from your salary. Please ask treasurer if you would like further details on this.

Quotes

One verse in every six in the first three Gospels relates either directly or indirectly to money. Sixteen of our Lords forty-four parables deal with the use of misuse of money. A loving, joyful, liberal giving to the Lord’s work is an acid test of a spiritual heart, pleasing to God. William Allen

There are three conversions necessary: the conversion of the heart, mind, and the purse.
