Gina and Petrica Bulica: Timisoara, Romania

Gina and Petrica worshipped at Rayners Lane Baptist Church for some years while they were both studying at London Bible College (now LST). They came to us from First Baptist Church Timisoara. Since their return to Romania, RLBC and FBCT have continued to be in a partnership relationship with teams from both churches visiting each other to share ministry.

LATEST NEWS LETTER from GINA and PETRICA

The last two years have brought quite significant changes in our family structure and ministry. They impacted our lives and, we hope, shaped them into more Christcenteredness, and in everything that we have been through we grew closer to Him and, hopefully, more like Him in character and service, regardless of the circumstances.

Petrica continues as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church “Betel” in Timisoara, with all the work that involves, whilst also looking after Gina (with the help of Ana, Gina’s 86 year old mum). In spite of an overwhelmingly busy schedule and some health problems of his own, Petrica can see God’s blessing over the ministry he is doing in Romania and other countries (like Moldova, Austria, Kazakhstan, US and UK) through preaching, family retreat events and mentoring young pastors and leaders.

Gina’s health continues to degenerate, rendering her more and more limited and, especially during the cold weather periods of the year, confined to her bed. This has impacted her ministry, especially the number of public speaking engagements and mission trips to different parts of Romania and other countries. Nevertheless, by God’s immeasurable grace, she continues to serve by empowering His women for committed service in different contexts in countries like Moldova, Kazakhstan and UK. As president of the Baptist Women from the county Association of Baptist Churches, she mentored and trained a team of younger women while, at the same time, developing a structure and philosophy of ministry that would ensure a context for continual healthy growth. As God, in His infinite wisdom, has not yet intervened in a radical way to improve her state of health, she is preparing her team in Timisoara to take full responsibility for the local ministry. At the same time, this autumn, a partnership will be formed so that the training leadership program in Moldova will be continued by women from the Timisoara team together with a group from Tyler, Texas. This way Gina will soon be free of all formal engagements, ready to focus more on writing and to be used by God in any way that He will call and empower her. She will also focus on mentoring local leaders and other women she feels God entrusted to her.

Anca was awarded, by God’s grace, a full scholarship to read for an MA in European Studies (which was her area of main interest) in London, beginning with October 2008. By the same grace she graduated in 2009 with distinction and is currently serving the Lord in Brussels, working for CARE for Europe (a branch of CARE UK). As a part of her ministry she is also providing essential information regarding the European law and directives to different Christian organizations in Romania. Recently she coordinated a team of CARE collaborators that helped with starting a country level project in Romania for prevention and education in churches and High Schools regarding the problem of human trafficking.

Paul had successfully graduated university in the summer of 2009. By God’s grace he found a job in the computer department of the regional Post Office. He got engaged in March 2010 to Emma Popa, a lovely young lady from Deva who studied Economics in Timisoara and the two were married on September 4. They now live in Gina’s mum’s old apartment, where Paul and Anca grew up.

Please Pray for:

PETRICA: For wisdom, health and strength to be able to handle all the tasks and continuous fresh anointing for the ministry.
GINA
: Please continue to pray for Gina’s health, asking for God’s provision of grace for all that’s needed in terms of medication, diet and strength to bear the pain and growing weakness.
GINA: Pray also for guidance and inspiration in finding new ways to continue to serve God’s women in spite of difficult circumstances.
ANCA: For wisdom and God’s protection for Anca as she continues serving the Lord with
CARE in Brussels
PAUL & EMMA: For God’s special blessings on Paul & Emma’s marriage and wisdom in deciding which area of ministry they should get involved in at “Betel”
